On the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, there are 8 closed suites with 1-2-1 configuration. Because I was traveling alone, I assigned myself seat 2A. Surprisingly, there were only 3 suites occupied that day. The ones in the middle were not taken at all. So it was quite wonderful. I have avoided emirates on account of their 10 abreast seating arangment on 777's, 'ALL' other airlines have 9 abreast on 777's. Esp as I do UK - Aus and back nearly twice a year, however would like that Dubai stopover to get rid of some of the jetlag on the way back.
